CPE Recommendation:
Program is recommended for .5 credit in Human Resources and .5 credit in Ethics at the basic level for CPA's responsible for ensuring ethical behavior, either formally or informally, in the workplace. (Total = 1.0 CPE) Emphasis is on cultivating character traits of truthfulness, humility, respect and  self-control.  This is a non-technical learning activity that contributes to the general, professional competence of a CPA.

It is the responsibility of the individual CPA to make the determination as to relevance to his/her individual practice.

About the program:

Thomas Hill, CEO of Kimray and author of Recovering Leadership: Musings of an Addict Leader, is a self-described addict leader who hit rock bottom and had to find a new way to live
and work. Thomas will share his own story of success, failure, and recovery—and in doing so will challenge other leaders to create an ethical workplace culture where people are respected because of their intrinsic value as human beings.

About the Presenter:

Thomas Hill III serves as Chief Executive Officer of Kimray, a leading manufacturer of valves and controls for oil and gas production. His grandfather, Garman Kimmell, founded the company
in 1948. Today it employs more than 500 people at its production facility in Oklahoma City and store locations throughout the United States. Having grown up in the company, Thomas has
worked in virtually every department—giving him an intimate knowledge of the people and processes from start to finish.

Thomas and his wife, Rebecca, both received their degrees from Oklahoma State University. They have been married more than 30 years and have six children. Thomas currently serves as
vice chair for Hope Is Alive and personally mentors a group of men recovering from addiction. You can read and subscribe to his “Monday Musings” on life and leadership at recoveringleadership.com.
